Adventures at home, abroad, and online

Month: December 2014

Snow in Zion

I’ve been to Zion before, but it’s even more spectacular in winter.

Grand Canyon

After leaving Sedona, we drove north to the Grand Canyon to see it in winter. There wasn’t much snow at the rim, but the cold air made for clear photographs and a brisk walk on the rim.

Sedona Ballooning

Our big present this year was a ballooning trip in Sedona with Ruth’s folks. We got up super early to launch at sunrise, but the still air and the morning light were worth it.

Death Valley and Las Vegas

Reluctant to head back east for the holidays, we decided this year to road-trip through the southwest with our dog Whiskey.

Mushroom Hunting

Ruth got us a wild mushroom walk with ForageSF for a holiday present, and it proved to be a good test of my self-gifted macro lens.
