I’ve been to Zion before, but it’s even more spectacular in winter.

Last time we couldn’t do the Narrows because of flash flood warnings, so we explored the western Kolob Canyons. This time we stayed right in the valley at Zion Lodge, and did an incredible hike up to Hidden Canyon. I didn’t manage to take photos of the precipitous trail, because I was holding the chain tightly while navigating the slippery snow and sandstone. But we made it up and back safely, and enjoyed a hearty dinner and comfy cabin.
