Read this poem from another war, and another thousand dead young men.<\/p>\n<p><b>A Thousand Killed:<\/b><\/p>\n<pre>I read of a thousand killed.\nAnd am glad because the scrounging imperial paw\nWas there so bitten:\nAs a man at elections is thrilled\nWhen the results pour in, and the North goes with him \nAnd the West breaks in the thaw.\n\n(That fighting was a long way off.)\n\nForgetting therefore an election\nBeing fought with votes and lies and catch-cries\nAnd orator's frowns and flowers and posters' noise\nIs paid for with cheques and toys:\nWars the most glorious\nVictory-winged and steeple-uproarious \n...
