{"id":2235,"date":"2014-01-05T16:41:54","date_gmt":"2014-01-06T00:41:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.levinger.net\/josh\/?p=2235"},"modified":"2014-02-19T17:03:04","modified_gmt":"2014-02-20T01:03:04","slug":"fes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.levinger.net\/josh\/2014\/01\/05\/fes","title":{"rendered":"Fes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been to a lot of ancient Islamic cities in my travels, but Fes is definitely the most architecturally distinct. <!--more--> The largest auto-free urban area in the world, and home to the oldest university, thousand year old tanneries, and innumerable tiny streets, the architecture and urban design are so different from the Western conception of what a city is.
