While our bathroom is getting some work done, we are staying in Philly for a few weeks. Ruth is working in person at Jawnt, I am seeing family and friends, and we are both eating our way through some excellent restaurants.
The Michelin recommendations came out this week, and we were pleased to see that many of our choices were recognized. We went to:
Little Fish BYOB, where I paired our tasting menu with a nice Kirkland
Friday Saturday Sunday, which was recognized with a star
Dance Robot, which has a great website and katsu curry
Mawn, where we waited in line for lunch. I recommend the prawns.
Yuhiro Sushi for excellent omakase
Pizzeria Beddia, recommended by Bib Gourmand
Chingon Taqueria, which was as good as any place I’ve been in California
Bastia, which had excellent cocktails and Sardinian small plates
Murph’s Bar, which had great local beer and excellent food
Kalaya, which was recognized with a star
Jaffa Bar, which had delicious cocktails and oysters
I also got a hoagie from Liberty Kitchen, handpies from Little Suzie’s and bagels Philly Style.
I’m glad my scale is back at home.
