Today is the start of the next leg of my West Coast adventure. Come along as we horse pack our way through the High Sierra and take photos of the Perseid meteor shower.
Left Lafayette and the siblings, I rode with Shane across the Central Valley and up Sonora Pass. We stopped at In-n-Out, where I got a double-double and Shane got a 4×4. He’s an impressive dude. Stopped at Safeway for last few things, including some whiskey and a plastic bottle to store it in, and then again in Twain Harte for more snacks. I have so many snacks. I will not go hungry.
We to Kennedy Meadows around 4 and checked into the dorm room. Walked along the river to cool off and waited for Jeff and Lori to arrive. Got huge ribeye steaks for dinner, discussed our plans for tomorrow and tried to sleep before our early departure on horseback.
