I am leaving Ruth and Whiskey for 3 weeks to go on two wild adventures. We say a solemn goodbye, and I promise to update them both with photos.

First, I am going to Alaska with Hannah for a week of sightseeing and bears. Then on to California for more family visits and a horse packing trip in the High Sierras. It should be epic.

Our first flight is delayed, so we get additional time in the Minneapolis airport. We checked out the Prince store, but decided it’s not a good idea to buy vinyl at the beginning of the trip. So we eat at a mediocre Mexican restaurant and I enjoy a few fajitas and margaritas.

Glaciers Below

We flew over glaciers and mountains under the full moon and partial night of the far north. It was difficult to get good photos, but beautiful to see the landscape change under us. Landing in the twilight of 1am, we picked up our rental car and headed to the Jewel Lake B&B for a quick night’s sleep.

In the morning we got our camping gear from Turnagain Outfitters, stocked up at the local Carr’s, and got on the road.
